I'm a doctoral student with an internship, two side jobs, and I'm also learning a foreign language. Needless to say I'm sitting more than 15 hours a day. I sometimes sit for 20 hours. It's great working from home, but I'm sitting way too much, I am having all kinds of muscular and skeletal ailments. Recently I also got something called dead butt syndrome. I can no longer lie on my back and sleep, because my bottom hurts like there is no tomorrow. I've tried many many cushions, from 15 dollars to 150 dollars, memory foam to latex to gel. Recently, I've also tried a ridiculously-expensive cushion produced for pressure sores caused by wheelchairs. My butt was already DOA, though. When you sit that long, all cushions of the world is no use. I try not to use pain killers, because they make me sleep a lot and I can't afford that. I have to be by my laptop.I have recently become a member of a "get everything done together" group and I helplessly asked them what they did about their dead butts. A couple of people suggested me to use standing desk converters and work standing up whenever my buttoms hurt. I've ordered a couple of converters before that. They were either very huge and heavy to lift on the desk; or too flimsy and weak. This one has an average weight, but it is very sturdy. I can use it at the lowest height when I'm sitting on my cushion, and at a higher setting when I'm up. It has been less than a week but I can feel less of my bottoms. I feel like my bottom can reincarnate.I know my life is sad, and I have more fundamental issues, but this converter makes it a little more tolerable until I see the light at the end of the tunnel.PS: Excuse the crumbs on the picture. I feel too tired to clean them.Edit after 5 months: My butt has risen from the ashes. I'm using the wheelchair cushion for sitting. Every 1.5-2 hours, I raise the desk and study 10-15 minutes in an upright position. It's still very sturdy and useful. It's great to get such a good use.Cherish thy bottoms, and buy this one. Don't let them die.Another edit: I have put a dish drying mat under it (can be seen in the pictures), I don't know if the legs would scratch the surface. I like my wooden desk, so I didn't want to risk it.Other customers talk about the adhesive sticker. Yes, that's the only minus. I don't even realize the sticker now. It would come off if you put a rag with rubbing alcohol and let it soak.
