I love this desk. I'm a quilter and have been stooping over my dining room table to cut fabric. I threw out my back and started looking for a standup desk. This is perfect, I wish I have gotten this sooner. So happy with the purchase!# ----- White gloss top -----I chose the white gloss (even though that's usually not my usual design choice) after I read a review of someone using it as a whiteboard. It's fantastic for quick notes! Remember that the seller does NOT recommend it as a whiteboard, so keep that in mind. So far (one month), I haven't seen any issues.# ----- Desk legs + adjustability -----The legs are sturdy and don't wiggle or whine during normal use. While I surprisingingly don't adjust the height often from standing to sitting, the few times I've used the crank have been pretty decent experiences. The crank isn't silent because, well, it is mechanical. However, the crank isn't too loud either. With that said, the ease of use and sound depends entirely on how you assemble the crank.# ----- Assembly -----Background: I like to work with my hands, and I don't tend to finish assemblies with more screws than expected :)So, with that said, I thought assembly wasn't too bad. I got stuck halfway through and reached for the instructions for the first time only to realize they were for a slightly different model than I got.1. Build the legs with the back part of the legs resting on the ground2. Add the casters3. Assemble the inside part of the crank4. Shift legs into the upright position (resting on casters) and test the crank by increasing and decreasing the height of the legs5. Attach desk top to legs with either 5a or 5b.5a. Shift legs back into resting on the ground, angle the heavy desk top perpendicular to the ground, and start connecting the top to the legs with screws. Lift the table to the upright position.5b. Keep the legs in the upright position, place the desk top ontop of the legs, connect the top to the legs with screws.Step 3 is where you decide the rigidity and noisiness of the crank. You'll probably have two metal bars of differing lengths (for some reason...) that you place in a hollow metal tube that has screw on cinchers. You'll want to play around with the position of the metal tube over the metal bars until the tension is strong. Less wobbly crank means less noise and more effective cranking.# ----- Overall -----I've been enjoying this desk very much! It's my first standing desk, and I've been enjoying the benefits of easily moving around while on 4+ hour calls with clients. I highly recommend especially for the price point.I purchased this desk, because like many people, I’m working from home these days. I don’t have a dedicated office space so wanted something with wheels that could easily be tucked away in the evening.Overall, I’m very pleased with the desk itself. It’s very sturdy and easy to crank when you want to adjust it. The wheels also glide very smoothly, and it’s pretty easy to swing around tight corners.Set up: First, let me just be honest and say that I hate assembling furniture, and I’m not the fastest at it. That being said, I do follow given instructions, and I rarely put something together incorrectly the first time. The instructions that came with this are probably the worst I’ve ever tried to decipher. Mainly because there are no words, only bad illustrations. Fortunately, they do have a video available, which I had to rely on because I found the illustrations to be one step above worthless. If you assemble this desk for a living and are using power tools, a half an hour is probably pretty accurate. If you’re using the hex wrench, and having to constantly pause and play the video, it’s going to take you much longer. Once the desk was assembled, one side was about 1 1/2 inches taller than the other. I contacted the company, and received a quick response with instructions and another video showing how to correct it. Did I mentioned that I HATE assembling furniture? It took me about 45 minutes to unscrew (using the dreaded hex wrench) about 10-12 screws, fix the issue and reattach the screws. If they had used words in the instructions, it would’ve been helpful to use those words to tell you to make sure you check the legs to make sure they’re the same length BEFORE you attach the table top.Pros: The desk is very sturdy, fits my monitors well, cranks easily, and the wheels glide smoothly.Cons: need better instructions and check your measurements carefully as the desk may not fit through your doors. I measured, and thought I was fine, but if I wanted to store it in a bedroom, I’d have to take the door off the hinges in order for it to actually fit through the door.Overall, I am pleased with the desk, and despite the assembly/disassembly, I would purchase again.OMG what can I say. I have recently moved into a new flat, so I wanted somewhere for my laptop and other devices, as well as for dining. I was delighted to find this lovely sit stand desk. It is bright shiny white, very attractive, very sturdy, and can be moved around wherever you want as it is on castors. It cranks up to a highish level so you can stand and do FB or read newspaper, or write, or whatever, which was a VERY important thing for me, as we spend way too much time sitting down. It can be cranked down to normal table level, but as I have some lovely white bar stools to go with this, it never seems to get that low.To protect the surface from scratches I have a table protector which is heat resistant, and it stays covered generally, and is used as a large desk. If I have people over for a meal then I cover that with table cloth. If I really want to show off this lovely table/desk, I will remove the covers, and put a colourful vase of flowers in the middle.............and it looks stunning! This is by far the most important item in my flat that I would NOT want to do without. I am 71, and am determined not to age by sitting around. This was amazing value for money. This is a brilliant desk. Fabulous quality for the money- really sturdy and BEAUTIFUL.I only have two CONS....1 is nothing to do with the product but is a frustrating aspect of the purchasing process- TNT delivery - they were utterly rubbish - took three attempts to get it despite me booking a delivery day online2 is the fabulous gloss white desk top I have chosen. Believe me it is so beautiful BUT my cordless mouse doesn't work on it (I think another user reported this), so I have to cover the surface which kind of ruins the look. I could use a mouse mat. However, that's a bit of a design issue as I'm sure this desk is ordered by a lot of people who want it as a computer desk.Having said that, I'm not disappointed. It's great. Easy to assemble and you just feel the quality when you are putting it together. It cranks up and down nicely and doesn't feel like it is struggling at all - I think that is because the crank handle is at the side and cranks in line with the crank bar mechanism without having to make a 90 degree turn if the handle was at the front of the desk like a lot of models. The handle is also really good quality. My advice- just buy one? I have the charcoal base and white top and it looks the part!Post script- I have found out that I can buy a mouse that works on highly polished surfaces / glass - so I will get one of those and then I can reveal again my lovely glossy desktop.... so really only the delivery that was an issue..... :))some time later - have a Logitech mouse now that works brilliantly on the gloss surface so no need to cover up its beauty now.I'm totally thrilled with this desk- it's a beautiful thing and it works! I'm speechless, it is so good. Best item I've ever bought on Amazon and I've bought a LOT! :)The crank case spindle was a bit fiddly at first, but I was pleasantly surprised how smooth and quiet its action was when raising and lowering the table-top.I'm an old diesel fitter, so putting stuff together isn't really a challenge. The only thing that worries me is finding a cross-threaded hole, which I didn't, thank God. The instructions weren't great, so I just made doubly sure to lay the bigger parts out on a large piece of cardboard and the small stuff like bolts on tabletop before starting. Also, making sure that each threaded Allen key type bolt screws in smoothly before also laying them down in their respective positions before making a start. The trouble is, this thing is quite heavy and you may need to find something else to rest the table legs against while you 'bridge' the crank case into position. ;)This is a high quality desk that feels sturdy and provides plenty of space.Building the desk was fairly straightforward single-handed however a second person would help, and pay attention to the screw sizes as they sometimes look similar in the documentation. I took me around an hour to do.Once build the desk has a slightly higher than normal height at its lowest point, but this could be brought down by not using the caster wheels. Full height is more than enough and I don’t typically bring it up that high (I’m 5’9), it remains sturdy at this height.Metalwork and the desktop appear to be a high quality. The desktop is thick enough for basic mounting of monitor arms etc.If you’re looking for a manual standing desk of reasonable size I would recommend you consider this.Firstly - I love this desk but there are a few things I would like to have known ahead of time - so if you are considering a purchase - this is for you:1) don't be concerned about sturdiness. This thing is built like a tank - as a result it weighs a tonne!2) my desk arrived in 2 separate parcels on 2 separate waggons an hour appaet - don't panic if u only receive half a desk at first!3) The desk comes with casters and feet. With the castor fitted and the desk in the lowest position the desk is still a little too high for me at 83 cm.4) regardless of the description - the desk top is not wood. It is formic a that looks like wood - and easier to care for as a result.
