This product is shipped fully assembled. However, there appears to be a manufacturing issue with the hinges. The metal is extremely brittle. Out of the box, all but two hinges were shattered. I tried to salvage the desk by moving one of the remaining two good hinges, to the opposite leg of the desk, but it also shattered. Then the last remaining hinge shattered. Clearly, this is not shipping damage, but a manufacturing deficiency. I contacted the vendor to ask for replacement hinges. They responded promptly, and told me that they do not carry spare hinges. The best they could offer was a $35 credit for me to try to buy replacement hinges. Whether the right size can be found in my local hardware store is unknown. Currently, the desk legs are held together with duct tape and the desk top is held down using rope. There is no returning the item and no option for a full refund. They also offered to send a replacement desk. But, why would I want to have two broken desks?
