This lap pillow does make a great “desk” for working while sitting in bed or on the couch. It is soft and comfortable on your arms and elbows, yet firm enough that it holds up the laptop. It has good leg room. It is working well as a desk for school work as well. I have not noticed the laptop getting too hot, but I also only use it for an hour or two at a time.It is great for reading a book or kindle. It also works well as arm support while playing games on tablets or phones.The tilt of the desktop feels good on my arms and makes it easier to type.The pockets are great for phones and pens. The drink holder works great for a tumbler.The cover is also machine washable, which is a great feature. I have not had to wash mine yet, but it is good to have as an option.Overall, it does a great job as a desk when sitting in bed or on the couch.I am not the only one who likes it: It has been "permanently borrowed" for "study purposes" ?Highly recommend!
