Before I mention issues, I will say it's still a very nice pen holder/cup. Having just received it today I cannot comment on durability (meaning I don't know what it would take to cause chips, cracks or breaks - and I have no intention on testing that ?).With that being said, it does have good thickness and weight to it. It holds quite a bit, as you can see. Even a full-sized ruler and heavy pair of scissors! I stuffed mine to the max, because I use a lot of stuff for my research projects. The issues: Like others said, this was not a white background. The inside seems white, but the background to the printed portion is off-white - more of a cream color or light taupe. Not a bad thing for my decor, but might bother you if you REALLY needed white. Which leads me to the 2nd issue: There is a "rim" discrepancy between what was advertised and what I received. In the ad, the printed pattern goes to the rim with the gold line being right on top. What I received, the pattern ends slightly below the rim, so the gold rim line does not rest on top, but created this very thin line of pure white at top. It seems minor, but clearly it was enough that I even noticed it. Still, it is not something I would return it for. It just shows a misalignment when they do the printing.
